Healing in Harmony with Nature

Lao Tzu of the Tao Te Ching.

My name is Mary Lynn White.  I completed my acupuncture education and internship at Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine and am certified to practice by the National and NC Acupuncture Licensing Boards.  My practice is located in Spruce Pine, NC across from the public library on Walnut Avenue.

There are many reasons to choose acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for health care besides pain management.  In ancient times, physicians were paid when their patients stayed healthy rather than when they got sick!  Acupuncture treats digestive disorders, depression and anxiety, carpal tunnel, fatigue and a host of other conditions (see Treating Conditions ).  It does this in the same way that it prevents disease: by restoring balance throughout the body which in turn creates health.  Many generally healthy people choose a seasonal acupuncture treatment to assist in keeping their systems in good condition and in harmony the shifting world of Nature.

Please call or email me with any questions or to set up an appointment.  I look forward to assisting you with your health concerns and keeping your body functioning optimally through the year.

Chinese Medicine has a wide range of tools for diagnosis and treatment

In addition to acupuncture needles themselves, several other treatments may be used to address various conditions.  Among them are moxa or Chinese mugwort, a fragrant herb that moves qi and builds energy in the body; cupping, which releases blockages and stagnation; and gua sha, a scraping technique that can provide relief from something as simple as a cold to deep-seated muscular pain.   See Treatment Modalities for more information and Chinese Diagnosis to learn little about how we decide which points and methods to use.

I have been using herbs, oils and essences for myself and others for many years.  See Plant Therapeutics for more.
